I had a major breakdown last night. My pet gerbil, Gerbil (that is her name), is getting old. She is breathing very heavy when she walks and eats. She sits on her ankles rather than her feet now and sleeps a lot. I was just crying away, knowing her time will come soon. The main thing I'm upset about is I inherited her from my cousin who committed suicide in '10. So, seeing Gerbil this way has brought up so much sadness in me over my cousin; I miss her so much. She was only 20 when she took her life.

When Gerbil passes away I will get her roommate, Waffle, a new friend so she does not have to be lonely.


I don't look forward to having to tell her parents when Gerbil passes. My cousin's mom will take it the hardest.


The point of this art is while i was upset and so sad I heard this song and remembered I can handle. God never gives us more than we can handle.
